Mr. Stone is a businessman and investor with expertise in the electric utility, renewable energy and grid security sectors.

Mr. Stone is a Director of HYbrid Energy Solutions, an Ireland-based manufacturer of portable hybrid (solar + lithium-ion battery + diesel) electricity generation systems used primarily to power off-grid telecom facilities.

Mr. Stone co-founded APR Energy, an owner/operator of “fast-track” utility scale (25MW-250MW) gas turbine power generation stations. He served on the company’s board of directors from 2003 until 2011. APR has installed and operated temporary power plants for utility and industrial customers at more than 40 project locations in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.

Prior to APR, Mr. Stone served as Chairman of Showpower, Inc., a specialist provider of power generation equipment, HVAC equipment, and electrical distribution services to the entertainment and special events industries.

Mr. Stone is a member of Business Executives for National Security (BENS), a non-partisan, non-profit organization of senior executives who assist national defense and homeland security leaders in addressing national security challenges. Mr. Stone co-authored BENS’s widely-read 2012 report, prepared at the request of DoD, recommending new strategies for protecting and enhancing energy security at domestic military installations: “Power the Fight: Capturing Smart Microgrid Potential for DoD Installation Energy Security.”

Mr. Stone is also Chairman of Indigo BioAutomation, which offers cloud-based workflow automation software and data analytics services to drug testing and clinical diagnostic laboratories and the pharmaceutical industry.

Mr. Stone has served as an executive and on the boards of numerous public and private companies operating in the logistics, manufacturing, transportation, insurance and business services industries.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Stone served on the staff of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, Jr., as chief of staff at the Interstate Commerce Commission and as a securities analyst on Wall Street.

Mr. Stone is a graduate of Dartmouth College, summa cum laude, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
