Michael Bardee

Former Director, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)

Michael Bardee worked most of his career at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). He served for five years as Director of FERC’s Office of Electric Reliability, overseeing the approval and enforcement of regulations to help promote the reliability and cybersecurity of the electric grid. He also served as FERC’s General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. In both positions, he oversaw the Office of General Counsel’s advice to FERC on its responsibilities for economic regulation of energy markets, as well as authorizations of new natural gas pipelines and hydroelectric facilities. Mr. Bardee received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Oklahoma University and a juris doctor degree from New York University School of Law.
